For Institute students to complete any program, they must complete a specified number of hours as required by their respective programs of study. Tysons Institute’s academic year is divided into four quarters per year: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each term is at least 11 weeks long in duration including the final exam week. Each class meets for 9 hours a week.
International students are required to maintain a full course of study while enrolled at TI. A full course of study consists of 18 hours a week.

School Closings
Scheduled Holidays
Tysons Institute observes all federal holidays in the United States. For details, please refer to the Class Schedule.
Unscheduled Closings
Because Tysons Institute is in Fairfax County, the Institute will follow Higher Educational Fairfax County Public Schools only when school closings occur due to inclement weather. If Fairfax County Public Schools have a late opening, late for one hour or less, this will not affect classes at Tysons Institute. However, Tysons Institute will follow Fairfax County Public Schools when early closings occur. For winter storms or other severe weather conditions, please consult NBC4 on TV, www.NBC4.com online, or call the school for any changes in schedule information. All class time lost due to inclement weather will be made up.
